Daniel Gumucio

Daniel Gumucio is the Founding Partner and Managing Partner of Gumucio | Litigation • Corporate. His practice focuses on Civil, Corporate and Labour & Employment law, with particular experience advising companies on complex employment litigation, union disputes, compensation restructurings, dismissals and stock option arrangements.

He is a PhD candidate in Legal Sciences at the Pontificia Universidad Católica Argentina Santa María de los Buenos Aires and holds a Master’s degree in Civil and Civil Procedural Law, with highest honours, from Universidad Autónoma Gabriel René Moreno.

His postgraduate and international legal training includes a Diploma in Labour Law and Labour Relations from Universidad Austral in Buenos Aires; a Diploma in Labour Legislation and its Impact on Business Management from Universidad Adolfo Ibáñez in Santiago, Chile; a Diploma in International Commercial Arbitration from American University Washington College of Law in Washington, D.C.; and a Mediation and Negotiation Program for Lawyers approved and certified by the State Bar of California. He also completed the Intensive English Academic Program at Boston University in Massachusetts.

Daniel was the exclusive contributor for Bolivia to the comparative employment law chapter of The Legal 500 Global Guide to Labour Law in its 2019 edition.

He has been recognised by Chambers and Partners for ten consecutive years for his work advising companies on labour and employment matters in Bolivia and is currently ranked Band 1 in Labour & Employment in the Chambers Latin America 2027 edition.

He is also recognised by Leaders League as “Excellent” in Labour & Employment, “Highly Recommended” in Litigation, and “Recommended” in Corporate Law.

Daniel serves as President of the Latin American Network of Labour Lawyers and teaches postgraduate courses in Labour Law at Universidad Católica Boliviana San Pablo, Santa Cruz campus, where he also contributes to the development of postgraduate academic programmes.
